George R. Williams, 80, passed away August 23, 2018. He was born in Southampton County, VA the son of the late Thomas Baxter Williams and Jamie Sarah English Williams. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria Schweidler Williams and his brother, John Thomas Williams.  George was a United States Army veteran.  He later went on to work and retire after 61 years as a farmer.

George is survived by his longtime friend, William "Billy" Green.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with Rev. Scott Cornette officiating.  A visitation will be held Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
