George Thomas White, Jr., 73, passed away April 9, 2021.  He was born in Newport News, VA the son of the late George Thomas White, Sr. and Sylvia Elizabeth Turner White.  George retired as a Truck Driver for Food Lion, Inc.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smithfield.  George is predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Nancy Baines Gurley White; and sister, Leona W. Sower.  He was a US Army veteran having served in Vietnam.

George is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Howard White and Meghan; granddaughters, Cameron White, Reagan White; brother, Dennis Howard White and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Memorial Park, 14477 Benns Church Boulevard, Smithfield, VA 23430 with Rev. Greg Gray officiating.  A visitation will be held Monday from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 15155 Turner Drive, Smithfield, VA 23430.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
