George Allen Stovall ,Sr. , of Suffolk, VA went to be with his LORD and SAVIOUR Saturday, January 8, 2011. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a ship fitter. A member of Calvary Baptist Missionary Church and the men's Sunday school. George did the LORD'S work wherever needed at the church.

George is survived by his wife of 49 years Violet Marie Harrell Stovall; daughters and sons-in-law; Donna Marie and David Williams; Teresa Ann and Rob Harrington; son and daughter-in-law; George Allen Stovall, Jr. and Nancy Stovall; ten grandchildren, Noah Harrington, Logan Harrington, Miranda Braswell, Casey Stovall, Paige Stovall, Walker Stovall, Kellie Powers, Lindsay Powers, Joshua Powers, Katie Glisson; and four great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Schears, Marjorie Warren, Georgie Johnson and Harriett Siegel and a half sister, Deloris Eanes.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Missionary Church at 545 Turlington Rd. Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastor Lin Stanworth officiating. Private interment will be at Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm at the church before the service. Memorial donations may be made to the church in honor of George.
