George Lewis "Joe" Ellis, 82, passed away November 10, 2012. He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late Clara Edwards Ellis and Raleigh Duke Ellis. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth Barkalow and Frances Kisner. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Joe worked for many years in the home improvement industry. He was a member of the Salvation Army, the Hardee's Breakfast Club, and the "Strings 4 Fun" band.

Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne Benton Ellis; daughter, Joanne Ellis Randolph Yeatts and husband, Jeff of Ashland; grandson, Zachary Wayne Randolph; brother, Raleigh Ellis, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery with Rev. Mickey Willard officiating. Friends may join the family Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory for a time of visitation.
