George Jackson (Jack) Gayle passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Nansemond Pointe. He was a native of Suffolk. Mr. Gayle was the son of the late Olivia Myrick Gayle and George Edward Gayle.

Survivors include two sons, David and Chris Gayle; Sharon Gale a niece; and Audrey Johnson a special cousin.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Ernest, Tom and Robert Gayle; three sisters, Edna, Frances, and twin sister Jane.

Mr. Gayle worked for many years with David Holland of Southern Oil.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery behind Oakland Christian Church. Friends may join the family for a visitation before the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
