Zuni, VA - Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer George W. Carbaugh, passed away suddenly on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014. Born January 3, 1947 in Bluefield, VA, he was the son of the late Lewis H. Carbaugh, Sr. and Rhea C. Girod Carbaugh. He was a 1965 graduate of Graham High School and served 22 ½ years in the U.S. Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his retirement from the Navy he was employed for many years by Terminex. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis H. "Major" Carbaugh, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica C. Landry of Zuni, VA, and son, Daniel Gregory Carbaugh, & Kim of Richmond, VA; two sisters: Judith A. Hall, husband Bill of N. Tazewell, VA and Mary M. Hooper , husband Wayne of Scott Depot, WV, and sister-in-law, Nellie F. Carbaugh of Suffolk, VA and two grandchildren: Austin Lee Michael & Makayla Cheyenne Carbaugh along with many nieces & nephews and faithful companion, Chico.

There will be a private viewing for family at Parr Funeral Home, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA on February 5, 2014 from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service with full Military honors at Albert G.
