George Thomas Bell, Jr., 88, of Suffolk, VA passed away March 24, 2007. He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late George Thomas Bell, Sr. and Cleo Overton Bell. George retired as a Service Manager and service advisor after working for Godwin Motor Company, Albert Ford, Mike Duman Ford and Barton Ford. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Martha P. Bell and son-in-law, Robert E. Kinsey, Jr.
George is survived by his daughter, Kay B. Kinsey of Suffolk, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, William Thomas "Tommy" and Glenda V. Bell of Marietta, GA. and Glen Alan and Leslie Bell of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren and wives, Robert E. Kinsey, III and Dana, Michael Dean and Fran Kinsey, Thomas Joseph Bell and Phillip Alexander Bell; great grandchildren, Alexandra , Caitlyn , Aryn and Morgan Kinsey; sisters, Francis Dixon, Estelle Grimes , Joyce Rowe ,Lucy Reinhardt and Ann Lanthorn; brother, Robert Bell; sister-in-law, Ann Wright; brothers-in law, Thomas H. Piland and Frank L. Piland; and a faithful caregiver Laverne Edmonds.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Rev. John F. Shappell officiating. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Friends may join the family Monday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Kay Kinsey. Contributions may be made to Oxford United Methodist Church at 601 W.
