Gene Eldridge Groves, Sr., 68, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away August 13,2022. Gene was the son of Merle Cofield Groves and the late John Eldridge Groves, Sr.

Gene was the Head Mechanic for Ford Motor Company Norfolk assembly plant, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #30.

In addition to his father, Gene is predeceased by his nephew Tommy. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Judy A. Groves, sons, Gene E. Groves Jr. (Jennifer), Jamie I. Groves (Jennifer), and Christopher Tenorio. Grandchildren, Anni, Grayson, Preston, Malli and Leni, sister, Darlene Woods (Pete), brothers, Kenny Groves (Jeannie) and Jay Groves, and three nieces, Jennifer, Melissa and Angela.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home in Suffolk, Virginia with burial following at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating.
