Gene Dee Donovan, 79, passed away July 11, 2017. He was born in Lima, OH, to the late Louis James and Mary Louise Ridnour Donovan. Gene was predeceased by his sister Linda Ketcham. He was a member of the Northern Neck Bee Club. Gene volunteered at the Northern Neck Food Bank, Baptist Builders, and Piankatank Camp Missions. He attended Farnham Baptist Church. Gene retired from the US Navy having served 20 years including the Vietnam conflict. He was the President of Professional Technology (Pro Tech).

Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Ann Olt Donovan; son, Richard Donovan (Jill); daughters, Juliann Tripp (Stuart), Barbara Espinosa; grandchildren, Alexander Wareham, Evan Wareham, Emma Grace Donovan, Samuel Donovan, Nicholas Donovan, Daniel Espinosa, Andrew Espinosa; and brother, Jacque Donovan (Linda).

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Rodney Morrison officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 from 12 -1:30 pm.
