Gary Wayne Spencer, 75, passed away May 4, 2018.  He was born in Evansville, IN the son of the late Valorous Leroy Spencer and Jean Yates Spencer.  He was a United States Navy Vietnam veteran having served for 21 years.  He later went on to work and retire as truck driver.  Gary was a lifetime member of the VFW in Jonesboro, GA and later in Franklin, VA.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Beverly Hamlin; son, Gregory Spencer; grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan, Dylan, and Tyler; and brother, James Spencer; nephew, Larry Spencer; and niece, Connie Ballentine.

A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Tim Cormany officiating.
