Gary Glenn Griggs, 56, passed away on April 21, 2017. He was born in San Diego, CA. He was the son of the late Arch O. and Jean South Griggs. He was a US Army veteran. He was employed as a machinist at the Newport News Shipyard. He was a member of Vicksville Hunt Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Mary O. Griggs; son, Eric Griggs; grandchildren, Kaylin Marie Griggs and Brayden Glenn Griggs; brother, John Griggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary loved when his New York family visited.

His funeral service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 4:00p in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Malcolm Boone officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be given to the American Heart Association.
