Gary Leroy Ellis, 76, passed away on March 28, 2019. He was born in DuBois, PA to the late Ivera Mae Smeal and Matthew Warren Ellis. He was a retired dockman from Exxon Mobile. He was a member of Crosspointe Freewill Baptist Church and served as a deacon, church and school board member and handyman. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Ann Oates Ellis; son and wife, Gary Lee and Alyson Ellis; grandchildren, Noah, Hailey and Kayla; sisters and brother in law, Grace Dusch, Norma and Bob Mowery; brothers and sisters in law, Jim and Diane Ellis and Matthew "Chip" and Peggy Ellis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary's funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Monday, April 1, 2019 at Crosspointe Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm at Colonial Grove Memorial Park in VA Beach. Visitation will be 7:30-9:00 pm, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Crosspointe Freewill Baptist Church.
