Gary Chesson Alexander was born August 10, 1939 in Columbia, NC.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Alexander.  Shirley died September 7, 1993.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Charlotte Alexander Scott.  She died April 2, 2019.

He is survived by his beloved sister, Dawn Harrell and husband, Calvin Harrell; his beloved son-in-law, Michael Allen Scott, Sr.; beloved grandsons, Eric Justin Buhls and Michael Allen Scott, Jr. and wife, Shannon; 2 beloved step children, Susan Griffin and husband, Chris, Bobby L. Twiford, Jr. and wife, Terri.  They always called him Daddy and he liked that.  He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
