Frederick "Freddie" Ryland Shipp, Sr., 68, passed away January 21, 2012. He was born in Virginia the son of the late Anna Mae Cannon Shipp and Ellis Hillary Shipp. He retired as a civil service worker from the Naval Air Rework Facility (NARF).

Frederick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sylvia L. Shipp; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer S. and Dean Gordon of Suffolk; son, Frederick Ryland Shipp, Jr. of Windsor; grandson, Christopher D. Gordon; nephew, Richard "Rick" Shipp of Virginia Beach, VA.
