Fred Joseph Habit, Jr., 82, passed away March 8, 2017.  He was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late Fred Joseph Habit, Sr. and Alice Christeen Moore Habit.  He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later went on to work and retire as a Real Estate agent.  He was a member of Oakland United Christian Church.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Brandie Habit Applewhite; son, Kim Joseph Habit; grandchildren, Mandie, Alexandra, Billy Jackson, Amberly, and Cameron Habit; and sister, Joan Habit.

A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Oakland Christian Church with Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating.  Inurnment will be at Olive Branch Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad or Oakland Christian Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
