Frank Nelson
Butler
July 20, 1925 – July 17, 2021
We called him the "Irishman" with his Irish nose and big grin. He stood tall and lanky – a farmer's boy from Whalen, Missouri. At 17, he joined the Navy and World War II. He was a quiet Veteran – a stoic Veteran – a generation like no other. He preferred to tell war stories that made us laugh instead of cry. He was part of this country's greatest warriors who freed the world from suppression. In 1945, he married the love of his life – a feisty Jersey girl all of 5 feet to his 6 feet 2. We called them "Mutt and Jeff". Mutt and Jeff went on to have twin girls and a boy. He supported the family as a Certified Electronics Technician with RCA/GE for 35 years and as a State Investigator for the State of Florida for 10 years. He retired to Virginia and is survived by his 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. There are no words large enough, arms wide enough, or love deep enough to express how much we will miss his humor, generosity and kindness. He will always be in our thoughts – embraced in our memory and in our hearts. – His Family
