Frances Mizelle, 83, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on August 31, 2021.  She was a cancer survivor, a member of the Ladies Friendship Class at Southside Baptist Church and a volunteer for Suffolk Meals on Wheels.  She retired from the Suffolk Public School system after 35 years.

Frances was born in Bertie County, North Carolina and lived in Suffolk, Virginia with her husband of sixty years, Jesse Eugene Mizelle.  Frances was predeceased by parents William Roland Leicester and Hazel Marie Edwards Leicester of Bertie County, NC. She is survived by husband Jesse, son Kevin Mizelle and wife, Lisa of Roxboro, NC, son Barry Mizelle and wife, Patty of Franklin VA ; five grandchildren, Megan Mizelle Richardson (Bert) of Moyock NC, Tyler Steven Mizelle (Hannah) of Suffolk VA, Brooke Mizelle of Suffolk VA , Cale Mizelle (Karly) of Timberlake, NC and Ian Mizelle of Louisburg, NC; three great grandchildren, Analiese Melody Richardson, Emery Grace Richardson and Graylynn Rae Mizelle; two sisters, Barbara Ann Leicester Bunch, Mary Roland Leicester Padrick; and many nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home in Suffolk, VA with Pastor Fred Gray officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
