Florence Carter White went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2012. She was born in Suffolk, VA the daughter of the late Ruby Horton Carter and Herbert Earl Carter. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving J. White; son, Billy R. White; sisters, Rose Spicer and Mary Everette; and brothers, Harvey, Horace, and Robert Carter, and Herbert Carter, Jr. Florence retired from the Thomas J. Lipton Company. She was a member of Virginia Beach Free Will Baptist Church and the Fellowship Club at Bethlehem Christian Church. She also attended the Woman's Christian Connection.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Ruby Dove Podolski and husband, John of Virginia Beach; sons, Irving "Butch" White, Jr. and wife, LaVerne of Suffolk, Jerry Lee White of Philadelphia, PA; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sister, Mae Harrell of Chesapeake; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 30, 2012 at 12 noon at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Dr. J. D. Norris, Jr. officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11-12. A private entombment will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
