Everett "Pete" Eugene Bowman, 81, passed away January 9, 2013. He was born in Gastonia, NC the son of the late Annie M. and Harvey R. Bowman. He was predeceased by his daughter, Genia Bowman DePriest. He was a veteran having served during the Korean War. Pete later went on to work and retire as the owner of Bowman Electric. He was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church and taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Pete is survived by his sons, Thomas R. Bowman and wife, Sharon of Elizabeth City, NC, and Reid W. Bowman of Suffolk, VA, and Howard M. Norris of Dunn, NC; daughter, Teresia Norris Thorne of Surry, VA; five grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Lorretta V. Carter and Thelma E. Ballard, both of Gastonia, NC; brother, Harvey R. Bowman, Jr. of Gastonia, NC.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434, with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A time of visitation will be prior to the service from 12-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
