Mrs. Evelyn Virginia Britton Cook passed away on September 11, 2011. A native of Suffolk, VA. she was the daughter of Helen Boyce Britton and the late James Johnson Britton. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. She graduated from Job Corp. and worked in their retail service.

Besides her mother she is survived by her husband of 41 years, James Alonzo Cook, Sr. of Suffolk; son and daughter-in-law James A. Cook, Jr. and Katrina Cook of Suffolk; two stepsons Lyle Dale Cook of Gloucester and Roy Allen Cook of Hampton; and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery with Dr. Willis I. Dowling officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr. Suffolk, VA and other times at the residence of Helen B. Britton.
