Evelyn White Blythe, 81, of Old Myrtle Rd. departed this life November 26, 2008 in MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. She was a native of Tyner in Chowan County, NC, and the daughter of the late Arsie Millard White and Pattie Ward White.

She retired as an office employee of the past Leggetts Department Store in Suffolk, VA. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. For several years she was a member of the church choir.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 20 years, Berkley Draper Blythe, two sisters, Ruby W. Weaver and Dora W. Aston and her husband Nathaniel all of Suffolk, VA; brother, Roger P. White of Carrsville; also four nieces and four nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will be at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
