Eunice Burris Hawkins, 87, of Suffolk, VA passed away November 17, 2010. She was born in Stanly County, NC the daughter of the late Nannie Lou Boone Burris and Thomas Gordon Burris. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Taylor Hawkins, Sr. ; son, Robert "Buddy" Thomas Hawkins; sister, Mabel E. Blanchard; brothers, Rogers Harding Burris and Thomas Hurley Burris. Eunice was a beautician for many years for Mary Story, Vogue Beauty Salon, and Lion and Lioness. She was a member of First Baptist Church and attended Southside Baptist Church.

Eunice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy H. and Richard B. Weeks; son, W. T. "Buster" Hawkins, Jr. ; grandchildren, Chelsea, Sarah, Rachel, Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Stewart McCarter officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home for a time of visitation and other times at the residence of Nancy and Richard Weeks.
