Ethel Coreene Watts Banton, 87, passed away on October 16, 2024. Born in Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Martha Coreene Cunningham and Robert Edwin Watts. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Thurman Wiley Banton, her sons, Jerry and Larry Banton, and her sisters, Barbara Berger and Jean Inge.

Ethel was a dedicated beautician who managed her own beauty salon, bringing joy and beauty to her clients. She was a cherished member of the Western Branch Baptist Church, where she found community and faith.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Wanda Banton Hyatt; her sons, Wayne Banton and his wife, Donna, Ronald Banton and his wife, Debby, and Donald Banton. Ethel also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Laura Humphries.

A memorial service to celebrate Ethel's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Micah Voight officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Western Branch Baptist Church.
