Ernest Edward Putt Sr, 93, passed away at his home on July 8, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Corinth, MS to the late Ernest Bluford Putt and Mabel Elsie Lucy Putt. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris Louise Putt. They married in 1951 and were happily married for 63 years. He is also predeceased by his siblings, Frieda, Royce, Fred, and Hubert. Ernest served in the Army, Navy, and retired from the USCG in 1969, and then from civil service in 1993.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Christine Kilgore; children, David E. Putt Sr. (Sara) and good friend, Karri, Ernest E. Putt Jr. (Nalani), Deborah L. Rojek, Patricia M. Mullinax, Richard T. Putt (Lorna), Kenneth M. Putt (Sherri), and Stephen L. Putt; grandchildren, David E. Putt Jr, (Kim), Chris Putt (Kelly), Craig Barrett, Timothy Putt (Ashley), Cameron Putt, Carson Putt, Christian Putt, Will Bryant (Kathryn), DJ Mullinax (Jaycie), Hunter Mullinax, Lauren Tepaske (Marcus), Maura Wyrick (Jason), Audra Rojek (Justin), Dorothy Kidwell (JD), Linda McWilliams, Patricia Mason (Ian), and Jennifer Frear; 33 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at noon, Friday, July 26, 2024, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held the day before on Thursday from 6-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Ernest to the Suffolk Humane Society.
