Erma Joyce Baines Riddick's Obituary
Erma Joyce Baines Riddick, 85, of Suffolk, VA passed away May 3, 2017. She was born in Suffolk, VA to the late Rufus Ashton Baines. Sr. and Erma Modlin Baines. She is also predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ryland Jackson "Jack" Riddick; brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Janice Baines, and Rufus A. Baines, Jr. Joyce worked as a secretary for Nationwide Insurance for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Baines Gurley White and George Thomas White, Jr.; sister-in-law, Lynne Baker Baines; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Dr. Thurman Hayes, Jr. and Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Suffolk Humane Society, P.O. Box 5038, Suffolk, VA 23435.
