Eric Jason Belwood, 41, loving father and devoted husband, of Suffolk, passed away on August 19, 2012. A native of Evansville, IN, he was a firefighter with the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fire and Emergency Services for the past 12 years. Eric was a 12 year veteran of the United States Navy having served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Bosnia. He was predeceased by his brother, Randy Scott and his sister, Tina Scott.

Eric is survived by his wife of 8 years, Donna Elaine Douglas; his mother, Carol Lee Hollander Belwood Bolton; his father and step-mother, John R. Belwood, Jr. and Brenda; two daughters: Kaitlyn Douglas and Cheyenne Belwood; and three sons, Brett Belwood, Nicholas Douglas and Hunter Belwood.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church, with Father Kenneth Wood officiating. Burial with fireman and military honors will follow at 3 p.m. at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
