Era Elizabeth Massie "Betty" Mitchell, 84, passed away on December 28, 2023. She was born in Amherst Co, VA to the late Lucy Lawhorne and Elmo Massie. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Debra. She worked as a line worker for General Electric and later became the owner and president of Diggin Dick Mitchell Construction Co. Inc. She was a member of Elevate Church and the Woman's Club of Windsor.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard "Diggin Dick" Mitchell; son, Roger D. Mitchell Sr. (Mamie); six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; a sister and two brothers; and a special great granddaughter, Michelle Mitchell.

Services will be private for Betty. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
