Emily Leona McClenny Umphlett, 89, a native of Nansemond County Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. A longtime member of Holland Baptist Church, Emily was the daughter of the late Mills McClenny and Emma Butler McClenny. She is predeceased by her loving husband Edward Douglas Umphlett, Sr. and siblings Pearl McClenny, Daisy Pope, Elsie Carr, Lillie Mae Smith, Nellie Dean Webster, Emma "Jane" Brown, Lonnie McClenny and Wallace McClenny. A devoted mother and homemaker Emily's memory will be cherished by her son Edward "Doug" Umphlett, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia with Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating.

Memorial donations can be given in Emily's honor to Holland Baptist Church.
