Elvin Ray Holland, 82, of Windsor went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2018.  The son of the late Vernon Holland and Ella Holland also of Windsor, Ray was a veteran of the United States Army with a rank of Specialist 2 of the 7 ^th Recon. Company.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Johnson Holland; his brothers, Awood Holland, Charlie Holland, Joseph Holland, and Willard Holland; his sisters, Anne Rountree and Hilda O'Berry.  Left to cherish his memory are his eight children, Donna Skinner (husband Kenneth) of Claremont, Jeffrey Holland (wife Sheila) of Chesterfield, Tammy Caviness (husband Samuel) of Chesapeake, Cynthia Stallings (husband Edward) of Manassas, Julie Morris (husband Scott) of Lexington, Matthew Holland (wife Sherry) of Boones Mill, Jennie Tillery (husband Charlie) of Knoxville, and Paul Holland (wife Kimberly) of Stafford; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his twin brother Russell; his sisters Della Edwards, Grace Brown, Dorothy Byrum, Jean Pavlina, Margaret Jane Mountcastle, and Betty O'Berry; and numerous friends from Burger King.

The family will welcome family and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Parr Funeral Home, Suffolk, VA, from 6 pm to 8 pm.  A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Albert G.
