Elvin "Buddy" Hart Porter, Jr., 66, passed away July 4, 2016. He was born in Portsmouth, VA the son of the late Elvin Hart Porter and Doris Thomas Woodruff. He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Porter. Buddy retired after 33 years as a boilermaker at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He loved working in his garden and enjoyed spending time in his garage. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Eleanor "Abby" Gayle Lease Porter; daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Anne Lee (David), Catherine Lee Porter; grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Smith, and Brandon Lee; sisters, Sylvia Vaughan and Sara Wright; nephews, Reid and John Jett, and Danny Porter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
