Elizabeth Hamilton Spivey, 85, died May 21, 2006. She was a native of Nansemond County and retired after 50 years as an office manager for J&E Auto Supply. She was the widow of Jethro Raby Spivey and a member of Holy Neck Christian Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose No. 966 of Portsmouth. She was the daughter of the late Sylvia Smith Hamilton and John Wade Hamilton Sr. She was also predeceased by her brother, Joseph Thomas Hamilton Sr. Survivors include her sister, Mary Edith Hamilton of Suffolk; brother and sister-in-law, John W. Hamilton Jr. and Mary C. Hamilton of Suffolk; sister-in-law, Joy G. Hamilton of Elizabeth City, N.C.; niece and goddaughter, Sylvia H. Simpson and husband McCoy; niece, Gayle Hamilton Duplain and husband Lee; three great-nephews and one great-niece; two great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home with Moose rites. Burial will be at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence. The Rev. Dolan Talbert will officiate.
