Sue Brown Underwood, 84, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 18, 2009 in Suffolk, VA. She was born in Scotland Neck, NC, on November 2, 1924, to the late Archibald Newton Brown and Willia Gay Brown. Sue was an active member of Suffolk Christian Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Herbert "Woo" Morrison Underwood and her oldest son, H. Morrison "Morris" Underwood, Jr. She was also predeceased by her three sisters, Julia Belle Benton, Jacqueline Evans, and Billie Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Dean Hill Underwood of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey Brown Underwood (Robyn) of Midlothian, VA; daughter, Cheri U. Thomas (Kevin) of Suffolk, VA; daughter-in-law, Victoria N. Underwood of Goldsboro, NC; four grandchildren, David (Donna), Haley (Mikie), Wesley, and Betsy; three great grandchildren, Sarah Beth, Anna, and Molly; special niece, Susan Davis; and several nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 22, 2009 at 12 noon at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Friends may join the family following the service in the fellowship hall at Suffolk Christian Church. Memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Christian Church, P.O.
