Edward Lee Parker, 78, passed away February 19, 2015. He was born in North Carolina the son of the late Eldridge and Lelia Parker. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Parker; and daughter, Judith. Edward was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam and retiring after 22 years of service. He later went on to work as a welder for Franklin Equipment Company. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Suffolk, VA and the DAV.
Edward is survived by his children, Ronald, Penny, Mary Ann, and Willie; step children, Carrie and Rachel; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Major Calvin Clatterbuck officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
