Edward "Ed" William Britt, Jr, 79, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2024. Born in Nansemond County, VA, he was the son of the late Barbara Ann Riddick and Edward William Britt, Sr. Ed proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a right-of-way agent from the City of Virginia Beach in 2013, after 39 years of service. He was a dedicated member of Suffolk Christian Church and after retiring, he worked with Meals on Wheels serving the residents living in the City of Suffolk and Isle of Wight County Region. He volunteered with Beach Events in Virginia Beach and the Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Ed is survived by his loving fiancée, Deborah "Debbie" Spivey; his son, Edward "Ed" William Britt, III; his grandchildren, Harleigh Britt, Logan Newton, and Kayla Danner, all of Virginia Beach; his half brother, Victor Jay Griffin, his daughter Ann, of Suffolk; and other loving family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-12:00 pm at the funeral home before the service.
