Edith M. Suess, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 28, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 89. Born on July 11, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Edith devoted her life to the love and care of her family as a dedicated homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Porter Aric and Mary Etta Hess Aric, her husband, Arnold Phillip Suess, Jr., her brother Richard Aric and her sister Janet Morris.

Edith is lovingly remembered by her sons, William Hirsch III, Charles K. Hirsch Sr., James Ayers and Chauncey Ayers, Jr.; her grandchildren, Kenneth, Rachele, William IV, Sara, Amanda, Katie, Haley, and Macy; and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Adelaide, Quinn, Cadyn, Eastyn, Ivy, Kai, Cyrus, Finley, Foster, Kellen, Patrick, and Barrett. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith found joy in cooking, spending time with family and friends, and sharing laughter and jokes, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and kindness.
