Earl Lawrence Bass, aged 70, passed away on November 6, 2024. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the son of the late Gertrude Hazel Bass Smith and Albert Bass. Earl was predeceased by his son, Eric Bass. He dedicated over 30 years of his life working as a welder at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and served as Chief Emeritus of the Nansemond Indian Nation.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Loleta Marie Saul Bass, and his son, Aaron Michael Bass. He leaves behind cherished memories with his grandchildren, Trinity Autumn Bass, Nathaniel Christian Bass, Kaitlyn Michelle Bass, and Jacob Michael Bass. Earl is also survived by his sister, Anne Bass, brother, Sam Bass, and daughter-in-law, Beth Moore Bass.

A memorial service to honor Earl's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Mattanock Town, 1001 Pembroke Ln, Suffolk, VA 23434.
