Elizabeth Denise Proulx Carr, 73, of Suffolk, VA passed away January 17, 2010. She was born in Ontario, Canada the daughter of the late Annette and Alpha Proulx. She retired as a Registered Nurse from Maryview Hospital and later went on to own Doug's Exterminating.

Denise is survived by her husband of 39 years, Douglas Raymond Carr; daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and John Henry Brown; sons and daughter-in-law, Raymond Shepheard, Duane and Debbie Shepheard all of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Jaime Brinkley and husband, Scott, Jessica, Walter, Cynthia, and Carrie Shepheard; great grandchildren, Jackson, Sydney, Patrick, Donovan, and Lori all of Suffolk, VA; sister, Rachelle Populin; brothers, Jack and Leo Proulx all of Canada.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Rev. Roger Johnson and Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Wednesday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
