Dwight Lee Justice, passed away peacefully at his home in Suffolk, Virginia, on his 58th birthday, October 27, 2012 after battling a long illness. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late Jack Dyre and Jacqueline Belcher Justice.
Dwight was a lifetime resident of Hampton Roads and attended Kempsville High School. He was an active member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. He had been employed with Colonial Chevrolet and later, Hall Pontiac until 1998 when he retired. Dwight was an avid automobile enthusiast and had a passion for building and customizing cars. He loved touring the hot rod and classic car circuit all over the country with his very good friends of the Rattlin' Bones Car Club. A special thanks to this stellar group who were caring, thoughtful and attentive during Dwight's difficult illness.
Dwight is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shelly Garrett Justice; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Camille and Raymond Lesoine, and nephew Taylor of Parrish, Florida; Pamela and David West of Strafford, Missouri and niece Christina Anne Lee of Seattle, Washington. Dwight is also survived by beloved lifelong family friends, William (Bill) and Bertilou Perry of Norfolk, Virginia, his mother-in-law, Gerry Garrett, and his 4-legged friend, Goldie.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Heritage United Methodist Church, 715 Baker Road Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462, with Reverend Kathleen Haynes officiating. The family will be receiving guests following the service.
