Dorothy Marie Bowen Leonard, 77, passed away October 12, 2017.  She was born in Greensville County, VA the daughter of the late Russell Aubrey Bowen, Jr. and Olga Dorothy Ondov Bowen.  She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, G. Carlton Leonard, Sr.; and her sister, Judy Jones.  Dorothy retired as a bookkeeper for Oakridge Pharmacy owned by her husband.  She was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon L. Adkison (Wendell), Anne M. Leonard; son and daughter-in-law, Gene C. Leonard, Jr. (Barbara); grandchildren and spouses, Jason, Shannon, Benjamin, Russell (Tifany), Matthew (Rachel), Wendell III, Christopher, Brittany; great grandchildren, Kylie, Zachary, Beachlynn, Lilley, Blakely, Shane, and Bayla; brothers, Billy Bowen and Donald Bowen, and numerous other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tim Rawls officiating.  Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
