Dorothy Byrd Edwards, 83, passed away November 6, 2021.  She was born in Farmville, NC the daughter of the late Hurley Holland Byrd, Sr. and Jennie Duke Byrd.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara B. Overton and Hurley H. Byrd, Jr.  Dorothy retired as an executive secretary for the Virginia Department of Transportation in Suffolk, VA.  She was a member of CrossPointe Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, William "Sonny" Jonah Edwards, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" J. Edwards, III and Mary Ann Edwards; grandchildren, Alex Christopher Edwards, Rhiannon Chloe Edwards, William J. Edwards IV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at CrossPointe Church with Rev. David Sexton officiating.  Burial will follow at Antioch Church Cemetery in Windsor, VA.  Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday night from 7-8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.  Memorial donations may be made to CrossPointe Church.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
