Dorothy Johnson Bober, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin P. Bober, brother Wesley Johnson and sisters Nellie Jernigan, Telzie Horne Joyner and Goldie Horne Leigh.

Dorothy was born July 27, 1921 in Suffolk. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Jane Holland and John Goode Johnson. Dorothy was a member of Suffolk Christian Church for many years and a member of the 1st Senior Citizen Club of Chesapeake. While residing in New Jersey, she served as Worthy Matron of Wall Chapter #143. She was also a member of Sinai Chapter #18, which is now Driver Chapter #149 of the Order of the Eastern Star until her death. For years she performed as M.C. of "Just the Two of Us" with her niece, Betty Peters.

Dorothy is survived by her niece, Betty Horne Peters of Suffolk and many, many other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service with Eastern Star Rites will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Chapel on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating.
