Dorothy Mae Baines Judkins, 94, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born to the late Gussie Kelly and Lee Roy Baines in Nansemond Co, VA and was raised in the Cypress Chapel community. She is also predeceased by her husband of 46 years, James T. "J.T." Judkins, Sr; brothers, Edward L. "Mike" Baines and Grady A. Baines; and a sister, Jeanette Baines Wise. She worked as a telephone operator for the C&P Telephone Co. in the mid 1940s and then worked and retired from the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co, National Produce Division as a packer for 25 years. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school in the Primary Department, and was a member of the West Memorial Bible Class.

Dorothy is survived by her son, James T. "Jimmy" Judkins, Jr. (Gloria); grandchildren, James T. "Tommy" Judkins, III (Kim), Donna Judkins Holmes (Andy), Amy Judkins Hott (Glenn), Jeremy M. Judkins (Donald), Mariah J. Ayala and Robin Ayala Nelson (Justin); great grandchildren, Tyler, Christopher, Victoria, Olivia, Brett, Jennifer, Payton and Maddox; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy's funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Suffolk Christian Church with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 7-8:00 pm, Monday, March 25 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Suffolk Christian Church, PO Box 1457, Suffolk, VA 23439.
