Doris Small
Wilkins
May 14, 1927 – June 25, 2022
Doris Small Wilkins, 95, went to be with her Lord on June 25, 2022. She was born in Williamston, NC to the late Beulah Marie Bland and Charlie Ben McKeel. She is also predeceased by her husbands, Benny Jarvis Small and Henry Wilkins; grandson, Benny Small; great grandson, Chase Allen White; sisters, Mary Louise Spruill and Lorraine McKeel; daughter in law, Vicky Small; and sons in law, Willie Strickland and Richard Small. She worked and retired after 24 years from Lipton Tea Co. as a tea packer. She also was an Avon Representative and a member of their President's Club. Prior to her declining health, Doris attended Southside Baptist Church, Church of God, and New Vision Ministry Church. She loved her Lord and she loved her family. She enjoyed going to yard sales, shopping, traveling to the Amish County every year with her girls. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved to decorate and put her Christmas tree up early just so she could enjoy looking at it. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with them.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Virginia S. Small, Shirley S. Snead (Jessie), Cecelia W. Strickland, and Kandy S. Lewis (Denny); sons, Charles Small, and Tommy Small; grandchildren, Debbie Boehning (Dan), Sandy Luter, Virginia Leigh Barefoot (Larry), Tina Small (Eddie), Kelly Marchese (Blanton), Brooke Hopkins (Danny), Krystal Iadanza (James), Chase M. White (Courtney), Matthew B. Snead (Marissa), Michelle Gregory (Dennis), Billy R. White, Jr. (Charlene), Daryl Strickland (Kaymah), Bubba Strickland, David Strickland (Chrissy), Krissy Asbell (Kevin), T.J. Small, Missy Small, Jessica Slaba (Tony), Michael Snead (Stephanie), Nancy Small, Dion Small, Benny Small, Chuck Small; 42 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; special nieces, Lorraine Avery (Glenn) and Wendy Gingras (Billy); special friend, Sherry Price; special neighbors, Linda, Tracey, Sherry, Rupert, and Steve.
Special thanks to Holly, Doris, and staff of Amedisys Hospice; and a big thank you to her special caregivers, Michelle, Tonya, and Lee.
Doris' funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Dennis Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
