Doris Jean Hicks, 77, passed away February 20, 2015. She was born in Lunenburg Co., VA the daughter of the late Geneva T. and Earnest B. Dix, Sr. She was predeceased by her brother, June Dix. Doris was a member of Ontario Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Raymond L. Hicks; daughter, Rose Hicks Tharpe; son, Bobby Ray Hicks and wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Brooke T. Brock (Charles), T. Chance Tharpe; great grandchild, Grayson Brock; sister, Charlotte Hicks; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Browning Duffer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Browning Duffer Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N.
