Doris Ward Daughtrey, 84, passed away February 23, 2020.   She was born in Harrellsville, NC the daughter of the late William Thomas Ward and Mattie Lorene Burch.  She was predeceased by her husband, James R. "Buck" Daughtrey, Jr.; her brothers, William T. Ward, Jr., Donald R. Ward, Billy A. Ward; and sister, Ruby W. Daughtrey.  She was employed for 28 years by Parker Peanut Company of Suffolk, VA and then for 20 years by Mar-Ja, Inc. of Suffolk, VA as a secretary.

Doris is survived by her son, Michael J. Powell; several nieces, nephews, and friends who knew her as Aunt Dot and Mama Doris.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rawls officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
