Dora White Aston, 86, of Suffolk, Virginia departed this life on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a native of Tyner (Chowan County), North Carolina, and the daughter of the late Arsie Millard White and Patti Ward White. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 53 year, Nathaniel Aston, her sister Evelyn Blythe and her sister Ruby Weaver.

For several years, she worked in the business office of the former Leggett's Department Store in downtown Suffolk. After having children, she became a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longstanding member of Western Branch Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA, attending since 1951. There she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a proud member of the Sally B. Powell class.

Survivors include her son, Keith N. Aston and wife Margaret of Windsor; daughter Elaine A. Lankford and husband Darrell of Suffolk; two grandsons, Tyler Keith Aston and Nicholas Brandon Lankford as well as one brother, Roger P. White of Carrsville, Virginia.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Virginia 23434. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Micah Voight officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dora's memory to Wester Branch Baptist Church, 6952 Old Myrtle Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434.

The family thanks the staff of Autumn Care of Suffolk for the care and time given to Ms. Aston over the past few years as well as those who cared for her at home prior to her nursing home placement.
