Donald "Donnie" Richard Brown, 80, passed away May 3, 2023. He was born in Cape Charles, VA the son of the late James Richard Brown and Lorraine Charnock Brown. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Marlo Brown Wigg. After graduating from Whaleyville High School, where he was a standout football and baseball player, Donnie served in the National Guard. He later went on to work and retired as a Right of Way Manager for the Hampton Roads Division of VDOT. Donnie was a youth football and baseball coach, member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Lee Jackson Sunday School Class where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and served on numerous committees over the years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his time with the VDOT Retiree Breakfast Club and watching his grandchildren succeed in scholastics and athletics to carry on his name.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Adele Spivey Brown; son, Wade Brown and wife, Ashley; grandchildren, Landon and Ryan Wigg, Kyle and Savannah Brown.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Garza officiating. Further time of fellowship will follow in the church fellowship hall. The burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
