Donald Eugene Phippins, 64, of Windsor, VA passed away on August 1, 2014. He was born in Windsor, VA, the son of the late William Lee Phippins, Jr., and Nora Cecil Phippins. Donald is also predeceased by his grandson, Austin Underwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam era. Donald was a member of Point Harbor Community Church and Zuni Hunt Club. He was the North Carolina state bull riding champion during the 1970's.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Lori Hooten (Scott); sons, Dannon Phippins (Wendy) and Aaron Phippins; stepson, Shawn Hacker; 3 grandchildren; sister, Brenda Smith (Calvin); brother, Johnnie Ray Phippins (Jackie); and mother of his children, Caranna Jones Phippins.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 at 2 pm at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with Rev. Mike Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.
