Donald Lee Brooks, 77, passed away May 7, 2014. He was born in Portsmouth, VA the son of the late Elmer Lee and Inez Simpson Brooks. He retired as a contractor. Donald was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church. He was also a member of the GSV Bee Keepers Guild and the Tidewater Wood Turner Organization where he was an award winning wood turner. He was an avid gardener and was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14.

Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emily M. Brooks; daughter, Donna Brooks Clark; sons, Scott Brooks, and Kevin Brooks; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and one more on the way; sister, Emily Eubanks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Holy Neck Christian Church with Rev. Drew Mountcastle officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society - earmarked for Suffolk Relay for Life at 4416 Expressway Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
