Derek Ryen Bushman, 15, passed away December 3, 2020.  He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Derek was a graduate of O.D.C. Gifted School in Virginia Beach. He was as avid a fan of the Vikings as he was gifted in his academics and sports.

Derek is survived by his parents, Breana Bulmer Bushman (David Mills), and Correy Alan Bushman (Tracy); siblings, Emmalee and Andrew; step siblings, Tristan, Ayden, and Jace; Oma and Opa, Gary and Elaine Bulmer; Grandma and Papa, Pete and Jayne Bushman; great grandparents, Pat Bulmer, Penny Kimberlin, and Ione Bushman; aunts and uncles, Grant Bulmer, Garrett Bulmer, Cassandra Milbrandt (Eric), Anthony Bushman (Marisa); great uncle and aunt, Doug and Michelle Kimberlin; cousin, Naomi; and numerous other great aunts and uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Derek's Life will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 6 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, VA with Pastor Matt Johnson officiating.  A time of visitation with limited gathering will be held prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.  The family is requesting for everyone to wear purple and gold.  Memorial donations may be made to The Jason Foundation at jasonfoundation.com .  Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com .
